GuruHi,

I invested 1 lac last year, with next 2 installments 2011 & 2012 are remaining. The units allocated to me is only 8497.818

In the above example, you have mentioned that for Rs.50000 you will get 4700 units. Why my units allocation is so low?

The current NAV of the fund is just 10.12, which is very low. Can I change my policy from 3 installment to one time investment. Is there a provision for that. If yes, how to do that.

Thanks,

Guru

I have invested in wealth plus and when I check my policy details at licindia.in, it shows fund type as BOND.

Does it mean that it will not invest this money in equities?

Will it invest only in corporate bonds, govt securities and other fixed income instruments?

In this case returns will be very less and NAV also will not go down much right?

Thanking you in advance

1. what was its starting NAV?

2. what is its present Nav & value of my investment?

ramsHi Tabrej,

I have invested in LIC Wealth Plus recently.

I would like to know the difference between single premium and 3 years premium other than the allocation charges. During the plan starting, each unit value is 10 rupees for both single premium and 3 years premium.

Will they allot the same 10 rupee per unit during the 2nd and 3rd year premium? or will they allot units depending on the NAV that year?

What else are the differences in choosing single and 3 years premium?

TabrejThere is no major difference. When you pay 2nd and 3rd years premium you may not get units @ 10. It will depend on current NAV on that day when you pay premium.

BALAJIi am investing Rs.20,000 p.a. 1st year i will get 1900 units @Rs.10

2nd year i am paying Rs.20,000 on that date NAV is Rs.20, so i will get 1000 more units and 3rd year i am paying Rs.20,000 on that date NAV is Rs.25, so i will get 800 more units. Totally i am getting 3700 units. On the 7th year NAV is Rs.25, so my fund value will be Rs.92,500.

Kindly confirm my understanding.

tapan kr palif i invest 40,000/- in wealth plus as single premium approx. what assured amount i w’ll get at the maturity of the policy? Arnab DasHOW MANY UNITES I WILL GET FOR 40,000 ?

AND WHAT IS MATURITY AGE…?

and from which internet link i will know the current nav value..?

Navneeth NagarajHi,

1. I have heard quite a lot on this Wealth Plus Policy and also heard that this is limited only for this year.Would there be any chances of this occuring in the next year as well ?

2. Secondly,my question is with respect to Income Tax Benefit. I have heard that the investor would be benefited from the IT tax if and only if there is a Life coverage taken is of 5 times the premium amount paid. Is that correct ? or can He/She get the IT benefit if the Life coverage chosen is only for 1.25 times the premium ?

For ex: if for a Single Premium of Rs. 40,000/-

Should the Life coverage be taken as (40,000 X 5) = 2 lacs ?

or can he take the life coverage of (40,000 X 1.25) = 50,000 ?

3. Also, how would the returns for his/her ivestment vary according to the life coverage taken. ?

Thank you.

2) I want to invest 40,000/- under Single Premium policy. What are the allocation and admin charges?

Ashu1) What is the last date for Closing of LIC’s Wealth Plus Policy ie

by which date we can invest in this Policy ?

2) How to know the NAV Rate on a particular day ?

VinayakI have made small comparision between LIC Welath plus & fixed deposit for an ivestment of 5 lacs (one time investment)

– Fixed deposit will yield 9 lacs approx. at the end of 8 years (@ rate of 8%)

– The charges in Wealthplus works out to around 8% for the first year (due to premium allocation charges) & around 2.5% average for the subsequent years

– Nett charge works out to 25%. However, there is a clause in LIC website wherien certain charges might go up during the policy tenure. So I have assumed total charges to be 30% during the tenure period.

– With the above, I have applied a factor of 0.7 on the investment of 5 lacs & you would get 3.5 lacs worth of Units at the end of tenure which is 35,000 Units

– Now for getting a return of 9 lacs (to break-even the fixed deposit return), the highest NAV needs to be 9,00,000/35,000 Units = 25.71

– To achieve a NAV of 25 at the end of 8 years, the fund needs to grow at a rate of 12% p.a

Can you check the above calcualtions & clarify the below 2 points

1. Assuming that LIC will be very cautious in their investment portfolio, since highest NAV clause is involved in this fund, What are the chances that NAV of Wealthplus will touch 25.71 (Give your ratings on scale of 1 to 10 for this question)

2. Is the moratlaity chagre of 2.75 per thousand per annum correct(for a person aged 35 yrs) .

Parag RedeI can do both pay a single premium or divide it across 3 years. Which one will give us maximum returns or incur minimum charges?

If the highest NAV is in the past, for example say it takes place before third year’s premium is paid, will it be applicatio to the third premium as well?

If the highest NAV takes place in last year, then will the returns be same irrespective of whether I have paid a single premium or annual premium. i.e. total units * 50. If so, in this case paying annual premium is seeking better % returns as you are staggering your investment.

( For 1 lac investment, sum assured = 1.25 lac. Amount deducted towards moratality charge = 2.75 * 125K = Rs. 343 per annum which works out to 0.34% of the investment

Compare this charge with Convertible term assurance policy (Plan No.58) for 2.5 lacs S.A, for aperson aged 35 yrs, premium works out to 1,712 per annum for PPT of 7 years. This works out to Rs.6.85 per thousand per annum)

nikhilwhat is the commission rate in wealth plus plan for agents.

kindly reply me

Bhavana MehtaAs per my understanding for Rs 40000 one time investment

Allocation Charge: 5%

Mortality Charge: Rs.195 on 40000 onetime investment

Policy Administration Charge: Rs.60/mo first year then Rs.25/mo

Fund Management Charge: 1%

Other charges are: 0.35% guarantee charges

Total Charges is : 2000 + 195 + 720(1st Yr) + 400 + 140 = 3455 [Around 8.63% first year] and then 0.25% every year

Is it correct?

Is Accident Benefit charge at the rate of Rs. 0.50 per thousand already included in above mentioned charges?

Manoj GandhiI want to invest in wealthplus plan Rs.50000/-

what is the return on maturity

SandipCould u please tell me what would be the better approach

1.Opting for a single premium

2.Opting for premium annually for consecutive 3 years

3.Opting for monthly premium for three years

Please also mention the reason.

Tabrej1. Single premium if you have surplus money this year but not sure for future.

2. Only if you are sure, you will have surplus money for next 3 years to invest.

3. Monthly, If you don’t have lumsum money to invest in single premium or pay annual premium. I would suggest for Salaried individuals with salary less that 15,000 per month.

S Y CHAUDHARIWhat is NAV at the of launching the Fund. If we pay 20000 Rs, how much units we gat?.

Suppose NAV in the yr 2011 is 50Rs and then market collapse and it come to 12 Rs, then which NAV you will consider at the time of maturity.

TabrejStarting NAV is Rs.10 per unit.

In your example Rs. 50 will be considered on maturity as that is the highest NAV.

monicaif i invest 40000 as single premium, what is the minimum approximate amount i can expect at maturity. do i need to pay anything besides this one time payment of rs. 40000

TabrejYou don’t need to pay anything else besides this one time premium. The minimum value will always be the face value of your investment. (That’s the case if market never goes up. which is 0.01% possible.)

Since you will get highest NAV in wealth plus with lowest allocation charges, LIC’s wealth plus is the best investment option as of today.

ASHOK KUMARHow many numbers of units will be alloted to me ,if i have invested amount Rs 50,000.

TabrejApprox 4700 units depending on NAV rate on the day you buy wealth Plus

RameshCan I invest in Wealth Plus without Life Cover?

TabrejNo. Life cover in inbuilt feature.

prakashLIC wealth plus can get on line i.e. without agent consultation

PraveenLIC Wealth Plus is a very good policy.

I want to know about its investment profile.

1 How much it invest in equties and debt funds ?

2 what are the fund options

TabrejThere is no fund options. Your money will be invested by experts depending on market needs to give you maximum return out of your investment.

TabrejLIC wealth plus is ULIP plan with guaranteed highest NAV in 7 year or 8th year whichever is higher. The maturity amount depends on highest NAV in next 7 or 8 years.

TabrejLIC wealth Plus in not a pension plan. Its a ULIP (Share Market Related). Return depends on Stock market. You will get the highest NAV in 7 years or 8th year whichever is higher. You also get extended life cover. If you need money in future you can partially withdraw it or surrender whole policy.

Wealth Plus is good plan for investment purpose.
